In one of the most exciting fights at PXC 43, Team Lakay's Gina Iniong grinded out a split-decision victory over Japanese veteran Mei Yamaguchi. Iniong was the stronger and superior striker, but Yamaguchi was a better grappler and even came very close to an armbar finish. With the hometown crowd cheering her on, Iniong showed tremendous heart as she fought hard to escape the armbar. Iniong carried and slammed her Japanese opponent to the mat to make her loosen up the submission hold. Gina Iniong (3-1) gets her second PXC victory in as many fights with the promotion while Mei Yamaguchi suffered her second straight loss as a PXC fighter.
