I am happy and feel much privileged to have photographed the last two Philippine events of the Pacific Xtreme Combat particularly because I am aware that I am photographing future MMA superstars who can make it to the highest levels in the sport someday. PXC has proven to be a breeding ground for fighters with great potentials to be signed by Bellator or UFC, the worlds' two most prestigious MMA organizations.
In an article by mmahawaii.com, Ian dela Cuesta (7-3-2nc), Russel Doane (9-1) and Louis Smolka (3-0) were among the hopeful Male Bantamweights in the hunt for a UFC contract via TUF Season 18.
The aforementioned fighters has fought (and are fighting) in the PXC, Asia-Pacific's premiere MMA organization.
Former PXC fighter Jon Tuck made it to TUF Season 15, although he lost via UD in the entry round, he was signed by the UFC and made a successful UFC debut in UFC on Fuel TV 6: Cung Le vs. Rich Franklin.
The Ultimate Fighter, which debuted in 2005, has launched the careers of more than 100 UFC fighters and has produced past champions such as Rashad Evans, Forrest Griffin, Michael Bisping and Matt Serra. Bantamweights were most recently featured on The Ultimate Fighter 14, where John Dodson emerged as season winner.

Louis Smolka on the other hand, has an undefeated record and he won big last PXC 35 against Alvin Cacdac and subsequently earned a future title shot against flyweight champion Ale "The Young Gun" Cali.
I wish both Russel and Louis all the best and whatever happens, I am still proud to have watched these young athletes fight in the Philippines, wish them good luck and hope they reach their UFC dreams someday. Before that, I hope to see them again in the Philippines as they are one of my favorite subjects for bringing great fights.
